Work Experience
Mark worked with GE (USA), Black & Decker & Tyco, in various Finance roles, culminating in his last role of Regional Operational Audit Manager covering 12 countries in Asia Pacific & occasionally Europe & North America, across industries, functions and organizational levels. He has worked in office & other environments dealing with individuals of all levels in 20 countries across sectors in 4 continents.
Mark headed Life Options Pte Ltd as Principal Consultant, collaborating with a team of associates while also on the panel of associates of Grovewell LLC, NY and Maximus International Pty Ltd, Sydney: prior to his retirement and the winding up of the company.
His niche areas of expertise are cross-cultural coaching of expat families, Corporate, Life, Career & Teen Coaching, Change & Leadership Development & Facilitation of Strategic Planning Retreats (Corporate), SEL (Education), & Parent SEL (Social). His current business and probono work spans different sectors in several Asian countries.
He has coached corporate leaders of different ethnicities from different industries in ten countries.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
Mark went to Anglo-Chinese School and finished his A levels there before serving his National Service stint.
He is a part qualified Chartered Accountant having completed 5 years of Articles in public accounting in the UK & passed his PE 1 and PE2 (partial).
Mark is coach certified by CoachU & CorporateCoachU & by 6 Seconds as an Advanced Practitioner in EQ (Training, Self-assessment tool administration, Curriculum development for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & Coaching). Mark is certified to administer the DISC tool and has also been involved in the development of the SEI Youth on-line EQ self-assessment and in-house self-assessments.
Mark was a member of 6 Seconds’ Master Class & EQ 8 Groups in the forefront of researching EQ applications in education.

With his global exposure, diverse corporate background & practical experience & equipping in the Self-Sciences, Mark is well placed to identify & connect with any profile of coachee, relate to varied aspirations, motivations & value systems. He is also sought after because, regardless of the coachee’s brief, the coaching process is holistic and covers every aspect of life (personal, family, social & professional). In addition the process is edifying because the coachee is set in a continuum of learning, evolution and redefinition to self-discover where he stands in relation to the core essentials for personal development, performance & success.
Mark is the go to person consulted by other coaches on the practical aspects of values based, emotionally intelligent human motivation, response & due process between plan & desired outcome. He is known for his group coaching & facilitation of corporate strategic planning retreats helping teams co-create and evolve authentic branding with identifiable personal & corporate social responsibility.
Mark served the community in Singapore through involvement in schools and a community hospital, ICF – Singapore Chapter (co-chair of Community Outreach projects), SJSM church (Parochial Church Council), the Anglican diocese (Finance Board & LDC), and the National Council of Churches Singapore. (EXCO member-Special Projects). He did pro-bono work with youth & coached CEOs with AWWA & Centre for Non-Profit Leadership, respectively.
He is also involved in Social Enterprise projects & volunteer training & coaching overseas, supporting mission organisations. He currently resides in Thailand, and has been supporting churches, hospitals, schools, technical colleges & universities. He has also done pro-bono work in Uganda, Timor Leste, Laos, Vietnam & Sri Lanka.
Current Status & Role
Mark has evolved as a coach over the last 24 years and is shaped by needs in society both locally, regionally & globally. He is mindful that his purpose, passion & evolving sense of his life’s real work will continue to define his role as a coach.
He is currently actively promoting the use of retreats and workshops for ‘primary influencers’ such as graduating students about to enter the workforce as well as parents and teachers. These serve as platforms for forums on the redefinition of leadership, an evolving social order and the evolution of personal & multi-level corporate social responsibility towards the co-creation of the profile of the consummate leader in every context. It must be understood that Leadership Development starts way before a person’s first formal leadership role.
